Getting caught in the storm while in a combat engagement - either because you lost track of the timer or because the engagement lasted longer than expected - is one of the most common ways matches end abruptly.

The final circle with two or three players remaining is where match outcomes are decided. At this stage, every engagement is decisive and building plays a central role in the brief, intense final fights. Players who have conserved building materials through the earlier game have a significant advantage in the end game over those who used all their materials on defensive builds in mid-game skirmishes.
