Diggy is a treasure-hunting excavation game where you control a small drilling machine on a mission to dig deep into the earth and uncover its secrets. How to Play Diggy

You control Diggy's movement and drilling direction using the arrow keys or WASD. Every square you drill costs fuel, and running out of fuel mid-dig means an expensive rescue operation. Plan your excavation routes to maximise discoveries while minimising wasted fuel. When you find something valuable, collect it and return to the surface to sell it and refuel for the next dive. As you accumulate resources, you invest in drill upgrades that let you go deeper and recover more per trip.

The Underground World

Diggy's underground is procedurally designed across multiple depth layers, each with its own set of resources, hazards, and discoveries. Shallow layers contain common minerals and basic artefacts. Digging deeper reveals rarer materials worth significantly more, ancient ruins with historical significance, and increasingly challenging terrain that requires better equipment to navigate efficiently. There is always something more interesting just a little further down, which creates a powerful pull to extend each dive just a bit further than planned.

Resource Management and Fuel

Fuel management is the core strategic tension of Diggy. Burning through your fuel reserves quickly to dig aggressively risks getting stranded deep underground with valuable cargo you cannot bring back. Conservative drilling preserves fuel but limits your depth and discovery rate. Finding the right balance for your current equipment level is something you develop naturally over time. Early in the game, conservative play is wise. As your fuel capacity and drill efficiency improve, more aggressive digging strategies become viable.

Upgrades and Equipment

Your earnings from selling discovered items go directly into upgrading Diggy's capabilities. A faster drill allows you to carve through earth more quickly. Larger fuel tanks extend how long you can dig before needing to surface. Better cargo capacity lets you haul more treasure per trip. A more powerful drill can break through harder rock types that block access to the richest ore deposits. Each upgrade compounds with the others to make subsequent digs significantly more productive.
